What are solar panels
Solar panels have become increasingly popular in recent years, with many people recognizing the need to switch to renewable energy sources to combat climate change.
Solar panels could change (your) world.
On roofs, in lawns, on balconies: during road trips, in Italy, it may happen more and more often to look out the window and see solar panels. Why are so many people choosing them? Or perhaps, we should ask ourselves why you haven't chosen them yet? The sun has a lot of benefits, not only on your mood, but it could also have them on your bill and on the stability of your network. In this blog post we will explain to you how solar panels and photovoltaic parks work and how they could change your life and that of the entire planet.
How a solar panel is made: let's start with the basics.
Inside a solar panel there are photovoltaic cells: the real stars of the show, because it is thanks to them that the energy you need is created. Typically, these cells are composed of silicon, a semiconductor material that reacts (well) when hit by photons of light rays and generates electrical current. A group of photovoltaic cells forms a module, and each solar panel is in turn composed of several modules.
So, we have already said to make a panel you need photovoltaic cells - and modules - then the structures that support all these elements must also be added to the list. Some structures are able to move the panels so as to have the perfect exposure to sunlight.
Then, there are inverters that, in fact, allow energy to be used and also to guarantee safety — if needed, they interrupt the flow of current or turn off the system.
Photovoltaic solar panels: what is special about them?
Solar panels (also referred to as photovoltaic panels or photovoltaic modules) are one of those inventions that change your life. While you are on the couch at home scrolling on your smartphone or binge watching the latest TV series released, they transform the energy of the sun into electricity - just what you will then need to charge your phone and tablet and continue doing what you were doing. And not only that. They allow you to save on your energy bill, and thus, you will have more budget to invest in other household or leisure expenses.
The advantages of having them are many:
-energy savings: emissions are reduced and the energy losses that occur in the case of electricity produced from fossil fuels are also exceeded. This type of energy is distributed throughout the territory with obsolete infrastructure.
-continuous economic savings: in the long term, they are cheaper than promotions and special contracts from some energy suppliers that guarantee only a few months of savings.
-energy independence: solar energy is an always accessible and inexhaustible source, which does not undergo price changes. And it's always close to you.
Yes, okay, on paper everything is fine. And if one day there is no sun, what do you do? Cloudy days are not a problem because the solar panels can be connected to batteries that, even on the darkest days, will ensure that the solar panel continues to work properly and to “deliver” energy when we need it. Batteries are not used to produce energy, but they perform the function of storage: they store the energy that is produced on sunny days.
And yet, there are those who have not yet fully understood the potential of photovoltaic panels and solar energy in general. Some are uninformed on the subject or are not interested in a change due to simple laziness or lack of environmental awareness. Still others because they think they can't afford such a choice; others don't want to look for the right partner or manage infrastructure maintenance. Do you see yourself in one of these cases or do you know someone who makes a perfect match with our description? Either way, know that the solution for all these problems-not-problems, is already there!

A solar park (almost) all for you.
The installation of solar panels on the roof or balcony is in fact not the only feasible solution. With GridShare, we are revolutionizing the world of clean energy, making sure that it is truly accessible to everyone. With us, you decide how much to invest, and how much to save.
A solar park can do a lot not only for you, but for the environment as a whole. The proximity of the plants to the members that constituted it makes it possible to substantially reduce CO2 emissions, transport and maintenance costs. In addition, there is another aspect that should not be underestimated: that of investing in your community, if you are close to the solar park.
By taking part in our project, you can count on the strength of Founders Factory and Fastweb, our partners. You'll have all the benefits of sustainable energy production and no worries. All you have to do is get in touch with us.
