Renewable energy is becoming increasingly central to the national energy landscape. The need to exploit clean energy sources and to reduce energy costs is driving the birth of new innovative business realities. Among these, GridShare stands out for its revolutionary approach to the production of shared solar energy.

Find out in this article how GridShare was created, what are the results achieved and the future projects of one of the most interesting Italian startups in the renewable energy sector.

How Was GridShare Born?

GridShare was born from the intuition of Giovanni Maria Antignani, which wanted to overcome the limitations of the traditional domestic photovoltaic system. His idea is simple but effective: create shared solar parks, accessible to anyone who wants to invest in clean energy without having to install solar panels on their roof.

The startup is developed thanks to FastWeb's Corporate Venture Building Founders Factory program, with the support of strategic partners such as CrowdFundMe and i-Pergola.

The GridShare model is based on crowdfunding: anyone can buy a share of the solar park and become clean energy producer. Once the necessary funds have been raised, GridShare takes care of the entire process, from construction to park management, including bureaucratic, logistical and technological aspects.

Thanks to this solution, investors receive an annual dividend proportional to the share purchased, with a stable performance over time, also useful to offset the costs of the household energy bill.

The Problems GridShare Solves

The photovoltaic sector in Italy is growing, but it has several barriers that limit its diffusion:

  1. Complex red tape: The regulations for the installation of domestic systems are fragmented and may vary locally.
  2. Urban planning constraints: In some areas, landscape restrictions prevent the installation of solar panels on roofs.
  3. Technical limitations: Not all buildings have adequate sun exposure or enough space for effective installation.
  4. High costs: Even with state incentives, the purchase and installation of a photovoltaic system requires a significant initial investment, in addition to maintenance and insurance costs.

With GridShare, however, anyone can become a producer of clean energy without having to install a personal system, accessing a transparent and convenient investment model.

The First GridShare Photovoltaic Park

The validity of the GridShare project was confirmed by the success of its first shared solar park, built in Ceprano (Frosinone) in collaboration with the cooperative Democratic Energy.

Technical data of the park:

  • Surface: 11,500 m²
  • Capacity: 500 kWp, sufficient to cover the energy needs of 300 homes
  • Number of panels: 860 of the latest generation, equipped with monoaxial tracker, which allows you to follow the movement of the sun to optimize production
  • Annual production: 850 MWh of energy, reducing CO2 emissions by 450 tons per year

The crowdfunding on CrowdFundMe It has recorded a great success, with more than 400 investors who have helped to collect 875,000 euros, exceeding the initial objective. In a short time, all available quotas have been allocated.

The Advantages of Investing in GridShare

Choosing GridShare means entering into an innovative and advantageous energy production model:

  • Simplified access to renewable energy: No need to install a domestic system
  • Economic performance: Annual dividends commensurate with investment
  • Bill savings: Partial or total coverage of energy costs
  • Zero bureaucratic and technical concerns: GridShare manages the entire process
  • Positive environmental impact: Actively contribute to the energy transition

The Future of GridShare: New Projects Coming Soon

After the success of the first solar farm, GridShare is already working on new projects. For those interested in participating, it is possible to register at Waiting list to receive updates and investment opportunities.

GridShare's goal is to expand the model throughout Italy, creating a network of shared solar parks that makes renewable energy increasingly accessible and sustainable.
